New Estate Buyers Ahead of Approval

TIME is ticking away slowly, but Pipers Glen Estate developers are eager to get started on the $7 million housing development at Maclean once the council gives the tick of approval.

The Daily Examiner caught up with Sydney-based developers Smith Group in June of this year when the development application was on display for public viewing.

But, Smith Group director Frank Hupp said they were still awaiting council's approval before they could move forward.

"It's going very slow, but it is a big application and there has been a lot of correspondence with the council," Mr Hupp said on Thursday.

"We hope for an outcome within six to eight weeks."

The 300-dwelling housing estate is planned for the 15ha land area off Rannoch Ave and Hogues Ln.

Mr Hupp said there had been plenty of interest from buyers looking to seal house and land package deals.

"We've had lots of good inquiries, but unfortunately until we have final go ahead from the council we can't finalise pricing," Mr Hupp said. …
