Collegians' Honour to a Club Treasure; Eather Tackles Many Roles for Junior Rugby League

RUGBY LEAGUE: Ask the leaders at Collegians Junior Rugby League Club who the most selfless volunteers around the club are and no doubt Toby Eather's name will come up a few times.

Eather was presented with life membership at Collegians' presentation day for his hard work and dedication to the club.

"It was a huge honour," Eather said. "It was a big surprise but I accepted it gratefully.

"To be honest, there are a lot more people than myself who deserve it but it's not something you can knock back."

Eather started out as a player in 1959 before he moved into coaching in 1976.

He then went back and forth between coaching and managerial roles.

After stepping back a bit this year, Eather will return in a managerial role next year, although he is not sure which age group it will be with yet.

Eather said his best memory was winning premierships as a coach, although one premiership in particular stood out. …
