WARRA cowgirl Jane Fay is in the best form of her career as she aims to win her first title in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.

Originally from South Australia, Fay has lived at Warra on the Western Downs for eight years.

A granddaughter of former national title winner Tom Willoughby, Fay has qualified for the breakaway roping at 13 of the past 14 National Finals Rodeos.

She won a rookie title in the APRA in 2004 and plenty of junior titles but an open title is the one she is chasing.

After almost five months of the season, she has a clear lead in breakaway roping standings.

"It is one rodeo at a time. I want to get to the finals, draw some nice calves, rope well and see how I go," Fay said. "It is a dream to win a national open title."

In August, she won the first round, final and aggregate in breakaway roping at Mt Isa. …
