School: Ayresome Park Primary Address: Worcester Street, Middlesbrough Headteacher: Lisa Biggin What are your school aims/policies? Our school motto is"Touching Hearts and Feeding Minds, it's awesome at Ayresome". We aim to provide an excellent education for all our children and their families and foster a core love of learning for life. We have a harmonious, diverse community, where everyone's culture, aspirations and ambitions are promoted. Our Ayresome Community Enterprise Centre (ACE), offers our community a strong programme of learning activities and a forthcoming internet and community cafe.

This centre also aims to provide an ethos which encourages effort, enjoyment and active participation in learning. What were you rated in your last Ofsted? In our last Ofsted we were rated as requiring improvement. As the new headteacher in September 2014, experienced in transforming schools, my ambition with the fabulous staff and community in Ayresome is to be outstanding and as a team we will work hard to move all of our judgements swiftly towards that goal. Our positive areas Ofsted recognised in 2013 were; that the school offers pupils manyexciting opportunities to develop their spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness. Our school offers highly effective care and support to pupils and their families. In terms of attainment, in the last three years, attainment in Year 6 has risen more rapidly than the national average in writing and mathematics. Do you have a school council? If so, what are they currently working on? Our new school council is about to be elected.

As it is the start of the new academic year, we are accepting applications from children who also wish to be head boy and head girl. Alongside this, we elect house captains in our four school houses, Discovery, Endeavour, Adventure and Resolution. Our school is planning an eco warriors team to build towards Green Flag status in the near future too. …
