Man's Shock as Car Crashes into Home

A REDCAR man has spoken of his shock after a car ploughed into the front of his house.

Adrian Hunt, 39, returned home from work to find a car had crashed into the front bay window of his terraced home on Lord Street, in Redcar.

Adrian, who works as an inventory procurement planner at Univar, said: "I saw the fire engine pass me as I was on my way home and I wondered where it was going.

"When I got to the end of the street, the road was closed. I could see the fire engines down the street. I thought there must have been a fire.

"When I went down the back street they were trying to get in my back gate. That's when they told me what had happened."

Emergency services including Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade were called at 5.35pm last night.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said a man had been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of driving offences. …
