MOUNT Coolum junior TJ King is hoping a strong hitout in next week's Queensland Men's Amateur Championship qualifying round will kick-start his post-school golfing career.
Due to graduate next month, King is intent on ramping up his training regime as he chases his dream of becoming a professional golfer.
The 17-year-old wants to gain casual employment while focusing on bettering his game, which already has him training seven days a week.
"Next year will be about concentrating on my golf and working on my game all year," he said yesterday.
"After that I want to go to college in America.
"I haven't got a scout yet, but I think it would be a good lifestyle and I also get a degree, which would be really good too. …
