Eleven Arson Charges Laid against Alleged Seige Man

POLICE have added 11 counts of arson to the list of charges against alleged Mount Morgan siege man, Adin Joel Cussen.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon yesterday alleged the offender was directly related to the fires lit in the area that damaged 11 properties last month.

"Late yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon detectives from the Rockhampton criminal investigation branch

interviewed the accused in this matter and as a result of that, he was subsequently charged with 11 counts of arson and that relates directly to the fire that occurred at Mount Morgan," Det Snr Sgt Moon (pictured) said.

"A fire then erupted at the rear of a property in Mount Morgan. We will be alleging that the fire was deliberately lit and it then spread out of control and significantly damaged 11 properties."

The Morning Bulletin reported late last month Mr Cussen stands charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, going armed as to cause fear, unlawful possession of a weapon, wilful damage, failure to stop a motor vehicle and driving without a licence, and two counts each of acts intended to resist arrest and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. …
