Breast Screen Queensland is kicking-off Pink Ribbon Day activities today by turning their iconic screening bus pink.

Pink Ribbon Day is not until October 27, but the Cancer Council Queensland fundraising team is already in high spirits.

Raelene Wells is the organiser of the Pink Ribbon Charity Fair, a Cancer Council Queensland registered event in Mackay.

"My biggest concern is that people don't know about the breast screen bus," she said.

"It's all over Mackay."

Mrs Wells said she had a special inspiration for fundraising.

"My mother would have turned 66 on Wednesday," she said.

"She passed away from breast cancer in December, 2012.

"I do this work in honour of her. I am amazed by the hard work of all the wonderful volunteers."

The mobile mammogram bus might not be at a location you would expect. …
