New series WATERLOO ROAD Wed BBC1 8pm Ring the bell, it's time for a new term at TV's most popular Scottish comprehensive school... and it's going to be a steep learning curve for disgraced former head Christine Mulgrew.

At the end of the last series, Christine lost her job as Waterloo Road principal after the troubled alcoholic drunkenly crashed her car at the school.

Although fired from senior management, Christine was eventually allowed to stay in a more humble teaching role and is now seeking redemption as she looks to rebuild her career - and reputation.

"These episodes are all about second chances and having the courage to go on," reveals Laurie Brett, 45, who plays Christine. "She's embarrassed that the entire school witnessed her spectacular courage to go Laurie Brett, Christine. Now working as Head of English, Christine immediately comes into conflict with dynamic new school head Vaughan Fitzgerald, played by Neil Pearson. …
