Backyard Blitz Shows Community Spirit Is Alive and Well in Coffs

Article excerpt

TO ALL the people who have volunteered to do a backyard blitz on my mum's yards.

We are so overwhelmed by the response we have had and to the local businesses who also have decided to donate time or donate in another way.

What a wonderful community spirit we have in Coffs Harbour.

TO the Bunker Cartoon Gallery and its volunteers.

Another great awards night with terrific cartoons on display from some of the country's best.

Thankyou to whoever handed in my bag when they realised it was not theirs and much gratitude to the staff who returned it to me. :-)

TO MY mum Heather Welsh who still plays tennis at 91.

An inspirational woman.

TO THE Coffs Harbour Baptist Church Ladies Craft Group for the best craft stall I have ever seen.

They even had a tea cosy, which I was after and Christmas baskets for the special lady in your life. The tomato and onion relish was the best I have ever eaten.

Keep up the good work ladies, and I cannot wait until your next one on December 5, same time and same place.

MY DAUGHTER Heather from Brisbane and I were leaving Park Beach Plaza after shopping.

Standing on the edge of the street looking very unhappy we saw Mr and Mrs Duck and their large brood of ducklings. …
