SCilla Battersby-Brown was one of Corrie's loudest and liveliest characters before the gobby mum upped sticks in 2007, abandoning her kids Chesney and Fiz. Now actress Wendi Peters is reprising the role, albeit only for six weeks. But where has Cilla been, has she changed, and why is she back? "She's been in Wolverhampton, of all the places to end up," laughs Wendi, 48, who played Cilla for four years. "It's just 100 miles down the road, although she's no better off than before. She's the same as ever."

Cilla makes her entrance on Wednesday night during a dinner at Tyrone and Fiz's. They've invited Roy over, plus Chesney and Sinead. So when there's a knock at the door they're all stunned to see Cilla walk in with an overnight bag and her wrist in plaster.

Not surprisingly, Chesney and Fiz are suspicious about why their mum is back.
