Some Commend, Others Condemn Actions of Hotel Bouncers

A BYRON Bay bouncer has defended the actions of security at the Beach Hotel last Friday night after a video of a fight involving a man who exposed his penis in front of hundreds of patrons went viral.

A video of the fight on Jonson St posted on the Northern Star website and Facebook page on Monday attracted more than 25,000 views.

"It was 8pm at night and there were families everywhere in the restaurant and he got up on stage and got his penis out on stage," said bouncer Josh Paish.

"The manager came and asked him to get off the stage, then security had to escort him to the door and as they did he started resisting and didn't want to leave.

"Then one of the bouncers pushed him out the door and he turned around and head-butted a security guard...and started throwing punches."

The fight then spilled on to Jonson St, Mr Paish said, with two of the man's mates joining in.

"Then one of his mates who came at us and had to be physically restrained has 'dog shotted' one of our security guards. …
