Teesside League GRANGETOWN Boys' Club are the new leaders of a very tight first division after a 5-0 win at Lingdale.

Grangetown lead by a single point, with the league's only undefeated side, Whinney Banks YCC, second following their 2-2 draw with Fishburn Park.

BEADS slipped down to third after suffering a 2-1 defeat at New Marske, while Richmond Mavericks are fourth after a 5-2 loss at Stockton West End.

Thornaby Dubliners were the days' highest scorers when they won 9-1 at North Ormesby thanks to an Anton Buchan hat-trick and braces for both James Hackett and Dimitri Kehi.

Thirsk Falcons beat basement club Nunthorpe Athletic 5-2 with a braces from Chris Everingham and Liam Cook and Northallerton Town moved up to 10th after a 2-1 victory at Great Ayton United and still have games in hand.

Boro Rangers continue to lead the second division, but only on goal difference, after they had a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Cargo Fleet.

Redcar Town are second on the same number of points after a 2-1 victory over third placed Yarm.

Elsewhere, Staithes Athletic could only draw 0-0 with ten-man Billingham FC and Kader beat Middleton Rangers 4-2 to move up to 10th in the table.

Redcar Newmarket are through to the last eight of the MacMillan Bowl League Cup after a comfortable 5-1 victory at second division Billingham Synthonia. Harry Shaw scored a hat-trick to help Newmarket to a home match against BEADS in the next round.

Redcar Athletic are through to the last eight of the Raine Trophy after going behind to Guisborough Globe before winning 2-1. St Mary's College bounced back from two consecutive defeats to go through to the next round of the Yorkshire Old Boys Shield as Ben Cotts scored a hat-trick in their 6-4 victory at St Bede's.
