Supermum Marries Just Four Hours after Birth

ANORTH East new mum tied the knot - just four hours after giving birth.

Jasmine Grief, 27, gave birth to a baby boy at Hexham General Hospital on Halloween - then headed 45 miles north-west to Gretna Green, Scotland, to marry proud dad Karl Storey just four hours later.

Jasmine, a cleaner from Kielder, Northumberland, had her son Anthony at 7.40am, before being driven north to get to Scotland on time to marry Karl at 11.30am.

Karl, who hires out mountain bikes for a living, said it had turned out to be the most amazing day of his life. He said: "I can't take it all in.

"I call Jasmine the 'Iron Lady' as she had the baby at 7.40am and married me at 11.30am with our new baby beside us." Karl said baby Anthony, who weighed in at 7lbs 12ozs when he was born, behaved beautifully. He said: "He was as good as gold during the ceremony."

Jasmine, who worked right up until the birth last Friday, plans to return to work straight away next week.

Her new husband said: "She is the most amazing woman. …
