HUNDREDS of lanterns light up the night sky in a tribute to tragic Tyne Bridge plunge dad Sean Foster.

Family and friends gathered at Baltic Quay, at Gateshead Quayside in honour of the former fusilier.

Loved ones lit Chinese lanterns and released them over the Tyne - just yards from where Sean is thought to have fallen to his death.

Sean's sister Dawn Flett and brother-in-law Liam joined friends and family at the event which raised money for mental health charity Mind.

Dawn, a full time mumof-two, said: "It's lovely to see so many here for Sean.

"He would have been amazed at how many lanterns are in the sky for him tonight.

"We were going to do it whether we found him or not.

"We have had buckets here for people to donate cash to Mind."

Sean plunged 195ft from the top span of the bridge around two weeks ago.

Last night's memorial came just days after a body, believed to be Sean's was found in the Tyne. …
