Gusbus's Clan-Do Tour of Scotland; Discover the History Behind the Scenery, Writes Kevin McDonald

DOCTOR WHO travelled back in time in his Tardis.

Take the Five Sisters of Kintail in the north-west of the Highlands. Gus tells of a widower with seven daughters. Two visiting Irish fishermen take a shining to the youngest two and ask the father for their hands in marriage.

The dad says he has five older daughters who should be hitched first. The fishermen say they have five elder single brothers back in Ireland and if they can marry the young daughters, they will go back to Ireland and send their brothers back for the other five .

But after weeks, months, years of waiting, there's no sign of the Irish fishermen. So he asks the Grey Magician to preserve the beauty of his five eldest daughters for all time - the result is the Five Sisters mountain range. …
