Chasing That Perfect Wave; Angourie Brothers Left Dehydrated and Desperate on Panama Coast

ANGOURIE twins Matt and Jordan Fallander found out trusting your instinct could be hit or miss on a recent surf trip in Panama.

Jordan said they wanted to go to Punta Mala, a good wave they had heard of, but missed their bus stop.

The boys ended up in up in a small village, Playa Venado, where instinct told them to walk along the coast.

"We looked for a cab, but it was too expensive and wanted the adventure," Jordan said.

"We didn't know how far it was and knew it would be at least a day walking.

"Going along the beach took ages; it took us three days to go 10km."

Jordan said they carried their boards over cliffs and through dense bush.

"We followed the coast because we didn't know if the highway would link up to where we were going," he said. …
