New-Boy Fogarty Has Some Credence

RUGBY LEAGUE: He hasn't got a mention as new Titans coach Neil Henry attempts to solve his halves dilemma next season, but Jamal Fogarty could be a 2015 NRL smokey.

With halfback Albert Kelly having gone to Super League, leaving Daniel Mortimer as the most experienced playmaker on the roster, Henry will run his eye over young guns Kane Elgey, last season's NYC Player of the Year for the Titans, and another 20-year-old, Christian Hazard, who the club also rates highly.

Rather than play in the youth cup, Fogarty, 20, (pictured) spent last season in the Intrust Super Cup for Tweed Heads to gain some experience playing against men to prepare him for the NRL.

The youngster was Elgey's teammate in the Australian Schoolboys team which toured New Zealand in 2011, and was named the player of the tour.

With former head coach John Cartwright criticised for not blooding players, Henry is likely to take a punt on his young halves.

The club has also signed young Penrith hooker Keirran Moseley to a two-year deal this week. …
