FABIO Borini could hold the key to unlocking a transfer merrygo-round involving Sunderland's Jozy Altidore.

The Merseyside club want to recall Divock Origi who they signed from Lille in the summer, only to send the striker back onloan to the French side for the season.

With Mario Balotelli out of sync up front for Liverpool, it is understood Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring back Origi from the loan spell in France as cover.
