Clark's Confident Results Will Come for Cool Heed

THE FA Cup can wait.

For Gateshead this season promotion is everything, so for Ben Clark today victory is all.

Dover Athletic visit the International Stadium this afternoon with the Tynesiders reduced to sixth in the Vanarama Premier table - one place outside the play-offs - after three league games without a win and only one in their last six.

As club captain and a proud centre-back, Clark admits the Heed must begin to defend better.

It has been a problem this season new to Gary Mills' 14-month tenure and has permitted opponents late goals (and two penalties in three games), costing valuable points.

No one at Gateshead is in the mood to panic, however.

Clark notes there remains a long way to go, such runs happen and, most encouragingly, performances remain of the highest order.

Keep faith, he says, forget for now next Sunday's FA Cup second round tie at home to Warrington Town of Evo-Stik North - and the results will follow.
