WONDERFUL CHARM has perhaps been a bit frustrating to follow but those supporters who keep the faith can be fully rewarded in the Betfred Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon.

It could be viewed as a little harsh to describe a multiple Grade Two winner as frustrating, but on the big days he has fallen short and it is time for him to arrest that trend now.

He could not transfer his early-season form into a meaningful bid for glory in the JLT at Cheltenham, LT at Cheltenham, L although he did endure a less than perfect passage that day, while he ran well enough to finish third in an Aintree Grade One, beaten 17 lengths behind Holywell.

That form has a pleasing look about it as Hennessy hero Many Clouds was just over three lengths behind that day while second-placed Don Cossack appears to at least be developing into a serious horse.

Wonderful Charm made a dream start to the campaign when beating off Colour Squadron and Taquin Du Seuil in a fine event at Newton Abbot but he again had his progress derailed when Don Cossack proved too good at Down Royal last month. …
