SUBMITTING 55 entries surely paid off for Win a Tinny winner Shirley Hull.

The winner of the prize package that was on offer through The Morning Bulletin, The Frenchville Sports Club and Bluefin was announced yesterday at the Frenchville Sports Club.

Shirley said she entered in the competition about two weeks before it closed and never thought she'd win.

"I only decided to enter at the last minute but I'm happy I did," she said.

"I submitted about 55 entries because I thought 'why not' and if I won I thought I could give the prize to my son for his birthday which is in two days. So he'll he getting a little bit more than a bottle of scotch for his birthday this year.

"Everyone in my neighbourhood always gives me their papers and I kept seeing the ad so I kept entering and thought I'd better try my luck. I'm amazed that I actually won, I couldn't believe it."

And this isn't the first time the 68-year-old has won a Bulletin competition. …
