THE Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc is again set to spread the word of its Buy Local campaign during the annual Impact Roadshow.

The purpose of the roadshow is to head out to shopping centres and gain feedback from the community and businesses on customer service, the variety of businesses in Gladstone and whether or not people are buying locally.

As a part of the roadshow we aim to ask as many people as possible to undertake a survey.

This year we discovered that many people living in Gladstone aim to buy locally whenever possible. However, they are finding that prices are much higher in Gladstone compared to the prices they would find online or out of town for the same product.

Generally, most respondents thought that customer service in Gladstone was pretty good. They were asked to rate it on a scale of one (awful) to 10 (excellent) and most scored it above seven.

Although there were some horror stories, general feedback was that the community was happy with customer service in Gladstone. …
