WHAT happens when someone we love can no longer speak up for themselves? It is an upsetting scenario that so many of us have had to face.

I visited a financial adviser and was pleasantly surprised that he checked that I had an enduring power of attorney. It was, as it should be, one of the first questions he asked me and my husband prior to discussing financial matters.
