Time Is Running out for Business Awards Entries

HIGH-FLYING firms have just three weeks left to put themselves forward for the region's premier business awards.

Featuring 14 categories, from manufacturing to exports and digital and social media, the North East Business Awards seek to highlight the achievements of companies of all sizes that have excelled in their respective fields throughout the previous year.

As well as offering excellent networking opportunities, they provide welcome positive publicity for the winners and those shortlisted, potentially opening new doors for the businesses.

Paul Colman, factory manager for Nobia Darlington, named 2014 manufacturer of the year, said: "Winning has meant a great deal to Nobia.

"It has helped us to widen our networks and further showcase our factory to both local, national and international sectors within which we conduct our business. Our colleagues in Sweden are very proud of our success.

"It is fantastic for the North East that a business like Nobia is seen and celebrated."

Describing the awards as a "fantastic event that recognises all that is good about the North East", he urged all businesses that were working develop themselves to enter.

Organised by The Journal and its sister newspaper on Teesside The Gazette - with support from the North East Chamber of Commerce - the North East Business Awards consistently bring together a range of high profile judges and sponsors, helping add to their reputation.

For the 2015 event, the entry deadline is January 6, after which shortlists will be drawn up for three subregions - Tyneside & Northumberland, Durham & Wearside, and Teesside.

Awards dinners for the heats will be held throughout February and March before the final at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield on April 23.
