WHAT they lack in "first-world" wealth and the everyday things we take for granted, they make up for with talent and a whole lot of charisma.

While travelling around Bali just before Christmas I had the pleasure of meeting some of the best musicians I have ever seen and heard in my life.

Two bands playing at one of the local pubs in Seminyak absolutely blew my socks off, and I am still telling everyone I see just how great they were. Including you.

With vocals to rival Axl Rose and guitar skills up with Hendrix, let's just say my ears were having a sweet time in rock 'n' roll heaven.

But what brought me back to reality was when my Balinese friend, Adi, told me it didn't matter how talented they were, the chances of Indonesian musos making the big time were extremely slim. …
