Times-Union sports columnist Gene Frenette grades the Jaguars against the Indianapolis Colts based on performance, effort and injury circumstances.

OFFENSE

F In the franchise history of inept performances, this one ranks up there. Blake Bortles (15 of 27, 146 yards) was intercepted by Vontae Davis on his first pass, then looked tentative the rest of the day. He even fumbled bringing his arm back to throw. Denard Robinson (14 carries, 25 yards) had no running lanes. It's bad when you can't score on first-and-goal from the 1.

DEFENSE

B After an A-plus first half, with Andrew Luck getting sacked three times by Chris Clemons and three fumble recoveries, the defense wore down in third quarter. CB Dwayne Gratz was torched for a 73-yard TD pass to T.Y. Hilton, though he got no safety help from Johnathan Cyprien. The Jaguars' offense killed the defense by not staying on field.

SPECIAL TEAMS

F Josh Cribbs took advantage of some shaky punt coverage with returns of 18 and 10 yards to set up scores. …
