Local Identities Resolve to Find and Bring Happiness in 2015

COUNCILLORS, business owners and well known figures around the Fraser Coast have one common resolution for 2015 - to stay happy.

Some are taking on new adventures while others are committed to making the region a better place.

Mayor Gerard O'Connell says, this year, it is family time and making sure the economy keeps growing.

"For the Fraser Coast, my resolution is to keep working to boost the economy. We will spend $50 million of our budget to improve and repair roads, build better sewerage system, invest in new housing projects and create more jobs," he said.

While Cr O'Connell is focused on strengthening the economy, Cr Robert Garland is going to embark on a new adventure.

"Santa heard me. I got a new pair of flippers for Christmas and my resolution is to do the 3km swim in April in the Stockland Bay Break. I also want to help people find jobs and hope we all do that for each other," he said.

Maryborough MP Anne Maddern is also looking to be happy and positive in 2015. …
