MISS BUCKSHOT has hit the bar on his last two starts but can return to winning ways in the Handicap at Lingfield.

Rae Guest's charge struck gold for the first time in over a year when scoring over a mile at Kempton in November, prompting a swift 5lb hike in the ratings for her troubles.

That extra chunk of lead did not seem to bother her too much at Lingfield next time out as she made notable late headway to finish a three-quarter-length third after taking a touch too long to really get going.

The four-year-old incurred a further 1lb rise for that run and again acquitted herself well off a revised perch of 79 when third again back at Kempton.

Miss Buckshot was once again putting in all her best work at the finish so this step up to 10 furlongs looks a logical move for what is an inform filly.

Johnny Splash thrives at Lingfield, with five of his seven career successes coming at the Surrey track, and he can further enhance those statistics in the Unibet Offer Daily Jockey/Trainer Specials Handicap. The six-year-old triumphed off a mark of 56 at the track back in September, adding another victory off a 9lb higher mark in December and posting a career-best effort in the process.

Raised a further 5lb, he just fell short when third on his most recent trip to the track and while another 1lb increase is far from ideal, Johnny Splash remains in good form at a track that really suits. …
