A CAR crash victim, who flipped his car off a bridge, could have been waiting up to an hour for help despite several cars driving past him

The 23-year-old doctor was driving on the dirt Brooweena-Woolooga Rd yesterday morning when he lost control of his car and ran it off Running Creek Bridge near Gympie.

He was lucky to be alive after his car was submerged, upside down.

The man, the only person in the car, managed to undo his seatbelt and open the car door to escape, but the challenge wasn't over then.

No fewer than four cars passed the bleeding doctor on the road, despite his trying to flag down passers-by.

It wasn't until St Patrick's College graduate Carly Turner, 17, came by that he had help.
