TOM WADE insists the future of Blyth Spartans is "very bright".

The Croft Park club have endured a tough week, bowing out of the FA Cup in heroic circumstances against Birmingham City and losing in the league at Frickley Athletic.

They continue their Evo-Stik Premier - in which they stand 18th but with multiple games in hand - campaign at home to bottom club Belper Town tomorrow.

And targeting the top half of the table at least, Wade believes his side still have "a lot to give".

"It's a big week for us," he said.

"The lads can take a lot of positives from the last week or so, because they're good players and they need to stick their chests out a bit, pick their chins up and believe in themselves.

"They should have a bit more of a swagger about what they do.

"They're a good, good side and we've got a bit of a chance this season if we play as well as we know we can. …
