THE VOICE UK BBC1, 7pm The return of the music contest in which the emphasis is on vocals rather than looks. With the departure of pop princess Kylie Minogue from the judging panel, R'n'B singer Rita Ora joins veteran star Tom Jones, producer, writer and rapper Will.i.am and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson. As always, the contest kicks off with the blind auditions, in which the coaches begin the process of building their 12-strong teams by sitting with their backs to the auditionees and spinning their chair if they want that singer.

HARRY HILL'S STARS IN THEIR EYES ITV, 7pm For 16 years, Stars in Their Eyes was a staple part of ITV's Saturday night entertainment schedule. Originally hosted by Leslie Crowther, the format was simple - members of the public would perform as their musical idols, and the audience would decide who was the best. The show really came into its own when Matthew Kelly took over for a nine-year stint, and before long, the catchphrase, 'Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be' was born. …
