Raring to Go; Lights Right for Some Stanthorpe Games

FOOTBALL: The lights are up, the field is in perfect condition and the Warwick District Football Association is ready for night football.

President Garry Spence said the new lights on four poles would enable the association teams to train on a full-sized field rather than a small area in front of the clubhouse.

"The lights are of playing quality and we will be able to play Stanthorpe club games under lights."

The total cost of the lights was funded from the resources of the association.

Association registrar Paul Butler said they received a lot of help from men's and colts team sponsors Davey Electrical and Osborn Lane Consulting Engineers with the project.

"The men's team will be able to play a couple of Stanthorpe association games under lights this season," he said.

Last season, Warwick fielded three teams in the Stanthorpe competition, the men's team finished third, the senior colts won the premiership and the women finished at the bottom of the table. …
