THE memory of a single game of cricket played 12 months ago will be put out of the minds of the Bundaberg players in the lead up to the Goodchild Shield game which will be played on Sunday at Salter Oval.

In a match more fondly remembered by the Fraser Coast team, it chased down 295 to beat Bundaberg by one run at Maryborough's Newton Oval, thanks to a last-ball overthrow.

Bundaberg would have played the final if it had won the game but watched from the pavilion as Fraser Coast played Gympie in the decider.

The result of this weekend's game will not be as do-or-die for Bundaberg, the only thing hinging on the result is whether it will host the final or if the game will be played on the Fraser Coast.

The make-up of the team is still undecided but an injury to a key player means the hosts go into the game minus a key bowler. …
