Vimal Loves Travel, Music, Gladstone; Orica Graduate Engineer Set for Interstate Move

VIMAL Nair's one true passion in life is to see the world.

The 27-year-old has visited a long list of countries, but Australia is his home for now.

Vimal lived in Kuala Lumper in Malaysia for 20 years, but moved to Melbourne in 2007.

He made the switch to Queensland in 2014 when he moved to Gladstone.

"Gladstone is the smallest place I have ever lived in," he said.

"I like the weather in winter here and how it takes two minutes to get anywhere.

"I like the chilled-out vibe in Gladstone, too."

Although there are many differences between the Australian and Malaysian lifestyles, Vimal pinpointed two that he had noticed the most. "The street food culture and cheap prices in Malaysia are different to Australia," he said.

Vimal is a mechanical engineer at Orica and enjoys the problem-solving element of his job.

"I have been an engineer for two years in the graduate program with Orica," he said.

"My goal is to branch out of technical engineering and get into the management side of things. …
