Refurbished Home Damaged by Fire

THE devastated owners of a property at Thabeban damaged by fire are reeling after being hit with a second clean-up bill.

Two juvenile boys aged nine and 11 have spoken with police in the relation to the fire which destroyed the front lounge of the home on Monday.

The Wattle St house was refurbished just before Christmas after being vandalised and potential tenants were scheduled to inspect the property just hours before the blaze, which caused extensive smoke damage to the entire house.

Real Estate Now property manager Rhonda Hansen said the property owners were understandably frustrated and disappointed but were determined to get the brick home fixed up and leased again.

"Obviously they are a little devastated but unfortunately these things happen," she said.

"It had just been fixed by the insurance company and now it's been damaged again.

"The owners realise it is one of those things and they'll have it fixed again. …
