IF YOU think that you've got all the aces or are looking to be flush with some New Year cash, come along to the Grafton District Services Club and see if you've got the best poker face.

The newly setup Northern Rivers Poker is organising its first Players Tournament to be held at the GDSC on Saturday and while organiser Ritchie Jameson is sitting out the inaugural game, he is keen to see it become a regular game and taking on all comers.

"We wanted to create a really well organised game for people, and the club has been a great help in organising it," Mr Jameson said.

"We'd like to have it kick off every six weeks to two months in the future."

For an entry fee of $25, each entrant gets a buy-in of $10,000 in chips and with at least 50 people signed up already; they'll get an excellent day of poker playing.

"First place will be a minimum prize of $500, and we will pay out for the top four or five players," he said. …
