CHANGES FOR ACOSTA, MAIN STREET BRIDGES

Motorists heading south on Interstate 95 over the Acosta and Main Street bridges will face a traffic shift on Saturday morning, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists traveling south from the Acosta Bridge will encounter a new traffic pattern as they go under the I-95 overpass, with signs directing them to the outer edge of newly constructed lanes with a merge point farther down.

Motorists traveling south from the Main Street bridge will continue their normal pattern but should be aware of the lane changes and conditions.

To prepare for the traffic shift, workers moved concrete barriers Friday night on to the newly constructed ramp, with a single lane expected to be open at the new route early Saturday.

Another change is also scheduled for Acosta bridge traffic that exits onto Beach and Atlantic boulevards. Those drivers will merge left in the new construction lane and proceed to the normal exit ramp. …
