NEWCASTLE United's increasing influence in Spain looks set to continue with a move for Racing Santander forward David Concha, the Spain under-19 forward.

United hope to broker a deal for Concha before the transfer deadline after making an offer to the cash-strapped Spanish second-tier club - and they will loan him back until the summer, when Newcastle intend to invest to reinforce the squad again.

Fans can expect more young Spanish prospects to join in the future. Making waves in the Spanish market is part of a continuation of a trend, with Newcastle hoping to bring in players from Spain and Germany in the same way that they have utilised the French market in the past.

Spanish reports claim that Concha has already visited St James' Park this season, and further moves in that country will be little surprise after the deal that brought Ayoze Perez to Newcastle.

United made a conscious effort in the summer to try and break into the market, with young players playing in the lower tiers a particular interest for Newcastle. …
