IPSWICH Knights triallist Mark Fancourt played 30 minutes for his new club on Wednesday night and impressed the coach.

The former Ipswich City Bulls defender just hopes he can get more of a chance to impress this weekend when the Knights play Surfers Paradise.

Fancourt knows he has limit time to make his mark with his new club before the season starts.

So he wants to take every opportunity he can.

"It was nice to get on the field," Fancourt said.

"It's fantastic being at the Knights. The level is really good and there's lots of good footballers. Training is high intensity and I really enjoy it."

Knights coach Stewart Drinkeld said the Fancourt had acquitted himself well so far at the club.

"He went quite well," Drinkeld said of the 28-year-old's Silver Boot display against Brisbane City.
