Jets Hard Man Brings New Found Confidence Back to Jets

CARLIN Anderson may not know where he will be playing this weekend, but fellow Broncos trainee Rod Griffin is expected to be available for the Ipswich Jets' first trial on Saturday.

The Jets take on Norths Devils at Swifts' grounds at Purga, and Griffin hopes to bring the confidence he's gained from training with the Broncos back to Ipswich.

"It's been a good experience, learning their culture and looking at what they go through," he said of the Broncos NRL squad, with which he's been training since November.

"Just being around the boys and training with them.

"I still can't believe it.

"Every time I go there I'm still nervous."

Griffin expects to start the season with the Jets, but hopes he has done enough at Broncos training to warrant a call up should they need players from outside the main squad through the season.

"I think I can confidently say I've done all I can," Griffin said.

"They're happy with how I'm going. Maybe down the track, around Origin time, if I'm performing for the Jets they might give me a crack. …
