Singing the Blues at Agnes; Seasoned Texas Blues Band Likes How the Ageless Music Is Enjoyed by Both Young and Old

LOS Cobras definitely aren't lost when it comes to performing at the annual Agnes Water Blues, Roots and Rock Festival.

Pulse caught up with harmonica and guitar player Billy J Cox before the big weekend to see how preparation was going.

Cox said his band loved spreading their blues tunes to Agnes Water whenever they could.

"We have been four or five times to Blues and Roots and it's wonderful. It's beautifully run and well participated," he said.

There are four members in Los Cobras, a Texas blues group that formed almost 10 years ago.

Cox, Alex Johnson, Gerard Devine and Jay Boving make up the band which frequents pubs and festivals around the central Queensland region.

"Three of us were in a band called Black Dog then a drummer came along and we formed something different," Cox said.

"Los Cobras means The Cobras which was the first name of the first band Stevie Ray Vaughn was in."

The guys play drums, bass guitar, lead guitar and harmonica. …
