Cabarita Brothers Are Ready to Take on the World in 2015

TALENTED Cabarita table tennis players Wade and brother Kane Townsend have had a long and successful association with table tennis that has seen them travel the world to pursue the sport.

"Our parents both played the sport, and have been state and national coaches," Wade said.

"Also our grandfather had a significant role in taking us both to weekly competitions when we were just starting out."

Kane has just returned from the World Team Cup in Dubai, where he had a great win over a number 76-ranked player in the world.

"Shortly the players for the World Championships in China will be selected," Wade said. "After that the Oceania Cup will be held in Bendigo, which is a qualifying event World Cup."

The middle of the year will be particularly busy for the brothers, with the Australian Open and the National Championships being held within a month of each other.

In between these two events, Wade will also be heading to the Japan Open. …
