GOLDEN Slipper winner Mossfun is set to make her long-awaited return to the track in Saturday's Group Two Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.

The three-year-old hasn't been seen since winning the Slipper after a virus in August saw plans for a Melbourne spring carnival campaign abandoned.

Mossfun will clash with Flight Stakes winner First Seal in the Light Fingers, with the daughter of Fastnet Rock also returning after an outstanding spring in Sydney.

After winning the Group Two Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on September 20 at just her third start, First Seal was breathtaking in the Group One Flight Stakes (1600m), racing away to win by a widening three lengths.

The filly then backed up in the Group One Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) against the boys just a week later, lowering her colours to the Gai Waterhouse-trained Hampton Court.

Trainer John Thompson has nominated First Seal for the $3 million Doncaster Mile at Randwick on April 4, with the three-year-old listed on the second line of betting at $11 with sportsbet. …
