It Will Be a Life-Changer; Dakota Johnson's Role in Fifty Shades of Grey Will Boost Her Acting Profile

Article excerpt

THE film has already sold out at the Chicks at the Flicks session tonight, so no wonder it's tipped as the first highly-anticipated film of the year.

Fifty Shades of Grey, based on the book of the same name by E.L. James, has had readers on the edge of their seats since it was announced a film-version would be made.

It stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steel and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey - the main characters.

Johnson, who may be not as well-known as her counterpart, said life, as she knows it, is about to change and she hasn't necessarily prepared for it.

Q. Why do you think the books were so successful?

Q. When did you read the books?

A. I didn't read them until I knew about the project and who the filmmakers would be. I thought they were incredibly entertaining, like everyone else. What I found so fascinating about Ana is that she's so much more than who she appears to be when you first meet her. Simply by being herself, she is able to crack the unattainable Christian Grey. It created an unexpected power dynamic between the two characters that is so captivating.
