Teesside Trio Are All Up for Quarter-Finals of the Cup

STOCKTON Town continue their quest to reach a third cup final as they take on Horden CW in the quarter-finals of the Wearside League Cup.

Horden closed the gap to Wearside League leaders Stockton to two points last week, but Town have a mammoth eight games in hand and the title race will be put on temporary hold in the last eight tie at Bishopton Road West (1.30).

Stockton will be without captain Stephen Roberts, who will be out for about a month with medial knee ligament damage.

Tom Coulthard is also doubtful after missing last week's 5-0 win at Richmond Town due to a work-related injury.

On the brighter side, Scott Meehan played the last 10 minutes of the Richmond game and had no reaction to his knee injury, so he will be hoping for more minutes from the bench.

Redcar Athletic are straight back on the road at the same stage of the same competition after being knocked out of the Monkwearmouth Cup last week.

After losing 2-0 at Cleator Moor Celtic, they now make the trip to Coxhoe to face Spennymoor Town Reserves. …
