Which Is the Best Suburb of Them All?

HOME, sweet home.

There is nothing like coming home after a long day at work, relaxing into the balmy afternoon with a glass of wine and appreciating the suburb you live in.

The Daily Mercury asked readers on Facebook which Mackay suburbs were the best and the quietest to live in after a reader said they believed Blacks Beach Cove was on the bottom of the list.

Dee Dunworth said East Mackay was a hidden secret.

"I love living in East Mackay, I have everything I need within a few minutes' drive and traffic is not an issue. I think it is Mackay's hidden secret," she said.

Kathy Goodman agreed.

"East Mackay area has always been quiet and close to airport, railway station, hospital, quiet beach and sport facilities," she said.

However, Jenelle Schembri, whose suburb didn't make the list, said she loves where she lives.

"We live at Dolphin Heads and we love it because it is quiet and close to the beach," she said. …
