ON NEW YEAR'S EVE one of the chickens from Harlow Green's chicken pen escaped and was found 'crossing the road' by a local resident. Harlow Green's three chickens, Chelsea, Hollie and Brownie, are one of the main features of the school's drive to create an educational outdoor learning environment.

The school has developed an exciting and stimulating outdoor area including: an adventure playground, a field, a MUGA, a gazebo and an outdoor gardening corner where they have a greenhouse, a resources shed, a poly tunnel and flower beds.

The school also provides outdoor equipment to keep the children entertained and fit. The fitness trail is a definite favourite where children can test their abilities on a mini-assault course. The children also participate in building the equipment, as the school has willow weaving where the children can build with the teachers to help the outdoor premises.
