AFFORDABLE rent and a vibrant creative community will see Nambour become an established destination for small and medium business, say business leaders.

Small business networking group Nambour Business Voice says Nambour's economy is making a comeback after the former industrial town's sugar mill closed a decade ago.

President Matt Collins said his group of small business owners was promoting this resurgence by welcoming new businesses to Nambour.

The group meets every Wednesday for breakfast, when business owners network, keep up to date on each others' businesses and pass on client referrals.

Mr Collins said Nambour was seeing a lot of creative business ideas turn into reality, including venues such as the Bison Bar and the Nook and Cranny, which have provided much-needed evening entertainment options.

"Business growth has a real arty feel to it," he said.

"In the last two years, there's a big influx of arty places, and a lot of home grown businesses too. …
