I'M not what one might call well-travelled.

My greatest global feat is having a wardrobe stuffed with fabulous worldly adornments and a kitchen brimming with recipes and ingredients from beautiful far-off lands.

These are either brought back by loving friends and relatives following their own travels; or brought to my door by the postman after a trek across the vast blue ocean, from a land far away, thanks to the wonder of online shopping - or some very well-stocked local stores.

I have travelled; just not a lot.

There is a whole world out there.

Yet I have always had something else to occupy my time, grab my attention or win its place as a priority.

Career. Houses. Family. Kids. Study.

It does bug me. I cannot lie about that.

But I can also look at what I have and be abundantly grateful.

For me the thought of travel is about opening your mind, experiencing other ways of life and seeing how we can learn from, and contribute to, a broader world environment. …
